These works are the beginnings of a larger series investigating the physical manifestation of “wild inks”. These works signify the natural landscape as the dark rolls in and the colours deepen into autumn. Ink is living, and when different material mix they cause reactions, oxidisation, and often a shift in colour. Tinkering with plants and berries found in hedgerows, or grinding charcoal and stones from cliff faces opens up a new perspective of how to view and engage with the landscape surrounding us.
