I create paints from metamorphic rock formations, dig earth pigment from mineral-rich riverbeds and extract botanical pigments from native plants. I search for hues found within lichen, moss, algae and fungi. I tweak ph levels of the colours, applying lake pigment extraction methods to alter the viscosity and modify the vibrance using oxides. The act of searching for colour forces me to address environments with a bold investigation and is as much part of my process as the resulting palette. 

These six colours were created from Oak, Copper, Dockleaf Tips, Copper Scraps, Peat and Clay from the cliffs looking out on Tór Mór, at Port, Donegal. 

Each set of three comes with colour and location details. These works can be framed as one piece or as three separate pieces, depending on your persona taste.

The pack you receive may differ slightly to those photographed due to the hand-painted nature of the pieces. All bio-colours produced are organic and living. Every effort will be made to preserve the lightfastness of the colours, however there is no guarantee the colours will not change over time. You are advised to keep the paintings away from direct sunlight and to enjoy observing them if they do change.
